The piece is painted in Stunning glaze colors including Cobalt, light blue, green, yellow and white and pink on the interior. The piece has 6 sides which alternate in design from a Putti or Cherub on a stand to a leaf and floral swag. The piece is very heavy and stands 20 1/2 inches tall; is 9 ΒΌ inches across at widest point of the mouth and is 12 1/4 inches across at the widest point of the base. Some might consider this an Umbrella Stand while others might view it as a floor vase or mantle vase. Either way, it is striking. It Displays Wonderfully and will instantly become the Decorative Focal Point of any room. It has three hairlines 2, 5 and 8 inches long (last three photos) — that are most noticeable from the interior. They do not affect the integrity of the piece. There are considerable areas of paint/glaze loss at the base (photo 9) and on the high relief points of the design, such as the Putti noses. The piece is not marked but by its form and feel it clearly dates to the mid to late 1800s and likely was produced in Staffordshire England or France. Check out my other items.
